Mad Witch Hunt
Multiplayer VR Escape Room Prototype
Project Duration: 1 Month
Team Size: 6
Development Tools: Oculus Quest 2. Unity, Ubiq, and GitHub
Reflection:
Our team was eager to see how quickly we could prototype a multiplayer escape room to better understand user interaction. Full of lessons, I was able to better understand the pros and cons of teleportation and continuous motion locomotion techniques. We were able to leverage user feedback to address overly complex puzzles, adjust locomotion to avoid motion sickness, and maintain immersion.
Realtime Virtual Camera
Unreal Engine Virtual Camera
Team Size: Solo Development
Development Tools: HTC Vive, Unreal Engine, and Blueprint
Reflection:
This prototype was an opportunity to work with Vive base stations, controllers, and ‘Live Link’ plugins to create an in engine virtual camera. Utilizing motion data, users are able to freely articulate a Vive controller in their physical space, to virtually manipulate a Realtime in engine camera. Consisting of various camera focal lengths and stabilization modes, this prototype displays the potential of combining XR hardware and real time game engine to achieve a responsive and immersive prototype.
